Reasons for Failing Most Female Betta Sorority Aquariums

Betta fish are beautiful and fun to watch, but they're also challenging to keep correctly. Aquariums can be expensive, so choosing the right one for your betta fish and its tank mates is essential.

Suppose you have an unhealthy betta sorority aquarium that's not thriving. In that case, it may be time to consider replacing it with another type of tank or even setting up an entirely new aquarium altogether. As there are many examples of Betta sorority tank failures, here we will try to find the common reasons for this tank failure.

So, your next experience will not be a failure!

1.     Inadequate Tank Size

Right tank size is essential for all fish, but it becomes a significant mistake regarding sorority tanks. As sorority tanks contain many bettas, you should choose a size compatible with them. The sorority tank size range from 5 to 50 gallon. The smallest size is recommended for two bettas.

However, the tank size will get increased with the betta's numbers. If you are unsure which size is appropriate for your bettas, get help from a specialist or the tank supplier, and the seller knows about it well.

2.     Inappropriate Tank Mates

If you have a male betta and a female betta sorority tank, the two will likely fight. This is because they can recognize each other by their color and pattern, which makes it easy for them to attack each other when they come in contact with one another.

The females will be aggressive towards each other as well. However, this can be avoided by keeping no male in the sorority tank and even keeping an eye on female bettas if they are being aggressive.

3.     Incorrect Water Conditions

Adjusting the sorority tank should be your priority because water is the main element that keeps bettas alive. Different water conditions include

·         Water temperature

·         Amount of waste in water

·         Amount of water

·         Type of water that bettas need

Tank water conditions usually depend on your accessories, including water conditioners, heaters, water filters, etc. So, when installing any of these accessories, research the right option for your bettas properly.

4.     Poor Diet

Poor diet includes two factors;

You might be giving the wrong diet to bettas

Maybe all betta species in the sorority tank are not getting their specific diet, and you are giving the same thing to all.

So, keep both factors in mind and be more thoughtful about your betta's diet.

5.     No Plants in the Tank

After water, plants are the second most crucial thing in the betta tank. Plants have the following role in the tank;

·         They create a natural environment

·         They maintain the water nutrients balance

·         Plants provide a place for bettas to hide

·         Plants produce privacy for bettas

So, make sure to decorate the tank with not only plants but the right plants.

Conclusion

The sad truth is that most female betta sorority aquariums fail. A few may even die before they live to see the light of day. But if you keep these tips in mind and follow them strictly, your fish will be happy and healthy!
